[It's early. It's way, way too early, but here's Jack outside in the dawn fog, perched precariously on a ladder and stringing up lights along the eaves of his mansion. The Halloween decorations haven't even been taken down. Why would they be? Of course he's going to address the network!]

Jingle bells! Silver bells!... Bells bells bells! Aha-hah! I can't believe it, it's already here!

[At least he didn't do this on November first, right?]

I hope you've all been good! I know I have! What are you hoping to get this year from old Sandy Claws?

[His joyful yammering is cut off for a moment as his ladder wobbles and he pinwheels his arms (gear in-hand) to catch his balance. Somewhere off-screen it's possible to hear a Yamask having a poke'breakdown.]

That was a close one...I think. I think this year I'd like...a quiet holiday. And maybe hiking boots.
quickattackjack: (did the bats tell you that)
[The familiar tune and bustle of the Pokemon Center betray Jack's location far before any of the scenery does. He's seated on one of the benches with his gear angled at the tattered and singed jacket clenched in his free hand. His Houndour, One, is tugging on it furiously, even though his trainer isn't putting any gusto into his side of the tug-o-war.]

Look at this beast. Tireless. Absolutely tireless. He's been training all afternoon and still wants to play. I hope everyone is doing well.

Signs of the Tallfellow )

(OOC: Life is bumpy right now so just leaving this handwave 'event' for anybody wanting to be a part of the Tallfellow thing since I couldn't do an encounter. Look HERE for more info if you're curious!))
quickattackjack: (drammaaaa)

[Today is One of Those Days but that isn't going to stop old Jack from trying to reach out. when the feed flickers on it reveals...nothing. There are busy streets behind him rife with general 4th Wall chaos but the gear moves as if it is being carried and not being aimed at anything in particular. It isn't like Jack to cam nothing (except when it is).]

Finally! Yes! Hello! I need some help! I can't seem to--BATS

[The 'gear clatters to the ground, doing several flips. There seems to be no Jack in sight although something is retrieving device from the sidewalk.]

I'm having a horrible time staying corporal and not the good kind of horrible!

[ACTION for ABSOLUTELY ANYWHERE ACROSS THE POKE'NATION--lunchtime to night time]

[What was that sound?]

[Was somebody standing over there just now? Surely it was just a trick of the light. No. No, it was not. The familiar form of Mr. Skellington in his traveling clothes is drifting around Johto and Kanto occasionally flickering in and out of sight as he struggles with things like not floating upside down and keeping his gear in his hands.]

[THIS IS NOT WHAT HE WENT TO HAUNTING SCHOOL FOR DAMN IT.]
quickattackjack: (bright eyed)
[GUESS WHO'S READY FOR CHRISTMAS! He's got his Santa hat on and everything.]

Good morning, Johto! And Kanto! I always forget about you, Kanto, forgive me. Anyway, I hope you've all been good this year! Sandy Claws pays extra attention in December, you know!

So! What's everyone doing for Christmas?
quickattackjack: (bright eyed)

[The feed opens upon THIS enthusiastically made poster, albeit a little out of focus at first. The day is windy and its edges flap in the breeze.]

Hellooo, everyone! It's finally ready! After all these long months of hard work! In only a week and a half, Skellington House will open to the public! If the mail system has pulled through for me, you should be able to find a poster like this in any poke'mart across Johto! Kanto too!

[The camera flips around to Jack's smiling face. If he grinned any harder, his head would split in two. It's also easy to see that the buildings on the opposite street have been...plastered with the things. He's advertising this harder than the Game Corner.]

See you there!
quickattackjack: (pokemon: eric)
[Today's video is not a smiling old man but a large, dark face with enormous watery red eyes. The Yamask, Eric, has gottenhold of Jack's 'gear and is hovering among tarp-strewn walls and boxes of props. Everything that is visible, though, is aptly creepy and rickety and uninviting--just the way a haunted house should look.]

Yamask! Yamamamask! Yamask!

< This is a horrible idea! It's terrible! Everything is going to go wrong, I know it! This whole contraption is an accident waiting to happen! A fire hazard! A death trap! Nobody listens to me! Ooooh, why won't anyone listen to me? Friends, if your trainers insist on coming to this--this--hullabaloo, please get them to wear a helmet or-- or strong shoes or...oh, just carry a first aid kit! >
quickattackjack: (Default)
[It's another bright morning in the Skellington Mansion and the feed flicks on to what must be the attic since there are panels of the ceiling missing and sunlight is streaming through. Tools are scattered everywhere and Edgar the Murkrow is making a pest of herself scattering nails. There are piles of plastic tarp rumpled here and there. Anybody living within a block of the house knows construction is still going loud and strong.]

I had a thought. I'd like to provide my guests with something to entertain themselves with besides being frightened of pokemon. I was wondering if anybody had come across any good horror films in this place. I could leave a few in each room for them to choose from.

I had a terrible time trying to find any two years ago but...something good must have come out since then?

[Anybody who worked at the Breeding Center in Goldenrod two Halloweens ago should remember the distraught Pumpkin King and his pile of crappy DVDs that overtook the livingroom.]
quickattackjack: (hopeful)
[Jack is in much higher spirits this time as the feed opens. He's at home and seemingly in the middle of a construction project if all the leaning, unsanded boards, paint buckets, and piles of plastic are anything to go by.]

[There are also six Gastly floating here and there carrying tools.]

Good evening, Johto! I've got a couple of favors to ask. I'm in the middle of a project here and if anybody would like to save me a little time by running to the hardware store for me, I'll happily pay you back. I've also got some lemonade and sandwiches made if that means anything to you--

[The biggest of the Gastlies drops the hammer it's been carrying and suddenly zooms off through the wall, followed by a second.]

Fester! Elvis! Those aren't for--

[It's hopeless. Jack withers a bit.]

I'll... have some made if you can help me out.
quickattackjack: (>8( srs times)
[It's evening when Jack appears on the Network for the first time in quite a while. The purple-roofed houses behind him make it obvious as to where he is. He looks tired but also frustrated. There are no smiles on this pumpkin.]

I've arrived safely. Forgive me for not checking in sooner, but I've been in Lavender Town for a day or so no. I have to say, I never expected this amount of unrest in the air. It's absolutely oppressive. The spirits here are not happy.

[Jack flips the 'gear around to show the Radio Tower in the gloom of sunset.]

I'd so hoped my arrival would be happier. I have wanted to visit this town since I arrived three long years ago.
quickattackjack: (brb punchin sharks)
HELLO, SAFFRON CITY!

[Noise all up in your gear today. There is a happy old dude standing in a train station with his gear half sideways. He's in that goofy Hawiian shirt again and he's got sunglasses perched on his head.]

[It's not even sunny but THIS IS WHAT YOU WEAR WHEN YOU GO ON VACATION, DARN IT.]

I decided to take the train instead of walking and I'm glad I did! I've never ridden anything that went so fast! I do plan on walking to Lavender in a few days, though. I'm curious to see what Kanto has to offer.

So! What's a body do in Saffron City?
quickattackjack: (human isnt so bad)
[The feed flickers on to show THE WILDERNESS. Specifically, the outskirts of Goldenrod. The camera is jarring slightly as Jack walks. He's already puffing slightly. It's been a while since he's stretched his legs somewhere besides pavement.]

Today's the day! I'm getting out of that stuffy house and making my way to Lavender Town. Why...I don't think I've even been to another town since I arrived in Goldenrod years ago. This is so exciting!

Needless to say, Drama classes will be canceled and if anyone needs to send me anything, forward it to Ecruteak. Wish me luck!
quickattackjack: (fascinating!)
[Look out, network! A wild Jack has appeared! He's at home and sitting in a high-backed chair, but looks far more alert and cheerful than he has in any conversations he's had with anyone over the past couple of months.]

Good afternoon, everyone! I actually have a request for you today. You see, I'm looking for a pokemon with Trick Room. Or perhaps the move Trick Room by itself.
quickattackjack: (fascinating!)
Good morning-- er. Good night-- HELLO, Johoto!

[Jack wastes no time face-caming it up. He is all smiles and his murkrow, Edgar, is on his shoulder.]

For anyone who's interested in attending the Dead Man's Party, we now have a date and location! It will be held in Goldenrod, on October the 27th! The lovely Miss Rangiku has offered her home to us for the evening. There will be refreshments, story swapping, and music if we can repair her piano in time.

Other Father, do you think you could help?

I'll be sending out invitations with directions to anyone who is interested. The living are welcome as well!
quickattackjack: (Default)
Good evening, Johto!

[Here's a face that's made a regular ghost of himself.]

I've been thinking...I know it's a bit of a touchy subject, but I spoke to several of you some time ago who were dead before you arrived? What would you all think of a little fall congregation here in Goldenrod next month? We could have dinner and swap stories. N-not on Halloween itself, because...

[Because IT GETS WEIRD on Halloween in Johto. He's learned that the hard way.]

...oh! And you living folks are perfectly welcome as well! Every dead person was a living person at one point or another! Sometimes multiple points... Anyhow!
quickattackjack: (Default)
[The first thing Johto is treated to is a blurry 'gear-video shot of a book cover. Jack realizes this eventually and pulls it away so that it comes into focus. The cover is black with a single, bold word on it.]

[DIG]

I bought a copy of this for a friend last year, but I don't think I told anyone else about it. I think this has to be the very best horror story I've come across since arriving in Johto. It's about a man who ventures into Diglett's Cave and becomes horribly lost...which is a feat since that cave is one of the less complicated ones that I've heard off.

[His face blanks momentarily as he remembers the horrors of Union cave...then his smile returns.]

There's more to it than that, but I wouldn't want to give anything away! I know all of you have horror stories where you're from. Tell me about them!

(OOC: GET YER A/C HERE! FRESH HOT A/C HELP FOR EVERYONE!)
quickattackjack: (Default)
[At first it's hard to tell that the Pumpkin King is upside down. He's hanging off the common room sofa in the Breeding Centre with his legs draped over the back. A pokemon toddling by along the cushions is the only clue to his position.]

You know, I've been wondering...just how many of you were dead before you arrived? I admit it's gotten a little lonely on the network. We dead folk must stick together!
quickattackjack: (fascinating!)
[Who missed having a screen-ful of cheerful old guy face?]

[Anyone?]

Hello, everyone! It's been a while, hasn't it? Would you believe me if I said I lost my gear in the sofa cushions?

...because I did.

ANYHOW who's ready for Christmas? Me. I am. I am ready for Christmas. Do you suppose Sandyclaws will come back? He left me a Houndour egg last year. Or someone did. I like to think I've been good this year. [If you don't count pranking the breeding center and possibly kidnapping people while dressed as a pirate on Halloween shhh.] I bet this is going to be a first Christmas for some of you! Let me tell you, it's going to be wonderful!

...so long as nothing explodes. But that's a given. I think.

I really do hope nothing explodes.

[CUT FOR ACTION IN GOLDENROD: Jack will be wandering around town. Feel free to bump into him!] )
quickattackjack: (lecture)
[Anybody passing by the Goldenrod Breeding Center will notice the front yard of the property is a horror scene of guts and flesh--pumpkin guts and flesh that is!]

[Jack is sitting in a folding chair enjoying the sunshine and elbow-deep in a pumpkin, scraping it out for carving. He's got his sunglasses pushed up on his forehead and a huge grin on his face. There are dozens surrounding him, most of them carved, each face more twisted than the last. His pokemon, Edgar the Murkrow, and One the Houndour are chasing each other around through the carnage.]

[He's got his 'gear in his free hand, holding it awkwardly because pumpkin goo has made it slippery .]

How is everyone today? We're halfway to Halloween! Well...almost halfway. Anyway, I'm warming up my carving skills because I haven't done it in over a year. I'm open to requests! Just go easy on me, I'm rusty.
quickattackjack: (grim grinning ghost)
[HELLO, JOHTO. HAVE A SCREEN FULL OF JACK FACE. It's the turn of the month and somebody is excited about it.]

Hello, everyone! It's Ok-toh-bah! I know some of you have to have Halloween where you're from!

Tell me what you do there! I'd love to get some new ideas to take home with me if-- You know. Anyhow!

[ALMOST let the sad come through. ALMOST. NO. Jack will fight his homesickness with spreading Halloween to every living breathing thing he comes in contact with this month.]

------------------ACTION------------------------

[Anyone in the Breeding household will notice Jack rushing around with a notebook tucked under one arm, writing down locations and ideas for decorations to put up. >8U MUST. DECORATE. ALL THE THINGS. He may accidentally trip over a soul or two.]
quickattackjack: (i give up)
//ACTION- He's wandering around in Goldenrod hunting a job. Feel free to run into him!//

[A whole city made of lights is an awful lot for one little skeleton to take in all at once. There were shopping centers! There were movies! There were shows and elaborate battles and probably hundreds of places to eat. There were also casinos full of ringing bells, laughing people, and blinking lights.]

[Guess who really really liked the blinking lights.]

[Go on, guess.]

[Jack leans against the outside of a little diner with a Help Wanted sign in the window. It's early morning and he's waiting on whoever owns the place to show up. He's not wearing that grey and black coat he always has on. Or his gloves. Or his shoes...or pants. Instead, all the old king has on are a pair of black swim trunks, the red Exeggutor-print Hawaiian shirt he picked up forever ago, and a very, very humbled expression.]

[Oh, dear.]

//VIDEO//

[It's still early morning when the camera clicks on. Jack looks tired and maybe a little embarrassed. THERE BE SCARIER THINGS THAN LEDGES HERE IN GOLDENROD]

Good morning, Johto. I hope you all slept well. Goldenrod is different from any other city I've visited so far. It's taught me something I thought I already knew: everything in moderation.

[Yeah, he's flat-ass broke.]

I'm going on a job hunt today and was wondering if I could perhaps pitch in half on a hotel room for a few days with someone--just until I'm back on my feet. I don't have much money, but I have a few healing items. I won't cause you any trouble and I don't snore...I don't think I do.

[Jack yawns, as he's been out all night long.]

I think I've had enough of the nightlife in this place.
quickattackjack: (Default)
Have you ever seen such a big city?

[A winded Jack points his 'gear at the entrance to Goldenrod in all its glory. The camera is unsteady and the little Houndour puppy in the shot looks anxious. His trainer's been wobbling for a while.]

Halloween Town was big, but this place is amazing! Hooh, it was...it was a hike, I'll say that much. My memory's a little off right now, but whoever said that forest was a maze, you were right. It's no Union Cave but...

Who can tell me anything about this place? How is everyone?

[Jack starts walking and gravitates towards a bench which he then flops down on and films the street traffic from. One the Houndour chases some Pidgies away from a nearby statue.]
quickattackjack: (???)
[The video opens up to the bright, clean interior of the Azalea Pokemon center. Strutting around on the tile with a plaster over her foot is one very proud Edgar. She's carrying a small red and black badge in her beak and crooning to herself. Off to the side a rather unamused looking Doc sits with his feathers ruffled. B[ YOU'D THINK SHE DID ALL THE FIGHTING. Stupid crow. Ffffff.]

As you can probably see, we won our gym battle! And that means...well, I'm done with this town. Time to move on. I'll be leaving today or tomorrow. Most likely tomorrow. If anyone has any tips for the path from Azalea to Goldenrod, I'm all ears!

...Edgar if you swallow that, I swear...
quickattackjack: (oh dear)
[Today instead of looking cheerful, Jack's feed flickers on to reveal a somewhat weary face. He's sitting hunched over and doesn't look nearly as attentive as he usually does. Edgar is on his shoulder with her head under her wing, snoozing away.]

Good mor-- I mean afternoon, Johto. How is everyone? I hope everyone had a better night's sleep than I did last night. You know, I love a good nightmare as much as the next dead guy, but I have the strangest feeling that it wasn't a dream. I think it might have been a memory. And I died. I've been dead for years, it shouldn't shake me so--

[He pauses to yawn. The ex-skeleton had woken up in the middle of the previous night and tried to power through the day by training for the gym extra hard. Now that it was getting close to bed time again, he DREADED it.]

--excuse me. But...I noticed another thing. In a week or so, I will have been here an entire year. I haven't been away from Halloween Town this long before--not even to do research. Someone told me that time stops back home, so I'm not too worried... but I don't think anything can stop me from missing it...

But I'm very glad to have met all of you. You've all taught me so much about being alive...listen to me ramble. I'm half asleep, I apologize. I normally don't drink coffee but I think tonight I just might make an exception. I don't think I want to sleep.

Haha, let's see how long I can stay awake. I bet I can pull fourty two hours-- how do you all say it? Like an employer?

...no, that's not right.

[YAWN]
quickattackjack: (grim grinning ghost)
[BEHOLD, JOHTO,

PANCAKES.

A METRIC SHIT TON OF THEM.

The feed has opened and focused on what looks like a card table sitting outside that is possibly creaking under the weight of too many pancakes. Beside it is possibly the most excited ex-skeleton anybody has ever seen. He is wearing a chef hat he possibly stole borrowed from the resteraunt he works at and has Edgar on his shoulder. She's watching at a couple of murkrow on a nearby roof uneasily.]

Good morning, everyone!

I just thought I'd try something new today and see how I was at cooking! I'm afraid I got a little...carried away though. If you're in Azalea, stop by and try a few, I'm near the gym! Maybe your pokemon would like some!

I'm not sure how well they keep...but if I find out, I could arrange to have some sent to you!

I'll be around!

[OOC:  They're terrible.]

quickattackjack: (8u wats up)
[Today the feed opens on a familiar face! A grinning one! Jack has recovered from his cave adventure and losing his buddy it looks like. Behind him are...pots and pans! The ex-skeleton himself is dressed sharp--a tuxedo with a bow tie. The jacket is embroidered with a Slowpoke.]

Hello, everyone!

[He's struggling to keep his voice low WHAT IS WHISPERING LOL]

Haha I'm so bad. We're not supposed to do this during work hours--anyhow! I wanted everyone to know that right now all the soup in the house is half off! I'm in Azalea and the restaurant is called Poke. Just....Poke. It's very small but it's not like you can get lost in this town. It's near a little place that sells fishing supplies.

Oh! And you need to dress formally to get in, but I think a tucked shirt or a tie should do.

[He proudly shows HIS off. It's been so long since Jack's had a good bow tie! ;-; SO LONG. He's secretly thinking of stealing this uniform. Shh.]

The soup is quite good! I wonder what they put in it...I just carry it out to people.

Gotta go!
quickattackjack: (i give up)
[The feed opens with THE SUN. It holds the great fiery sky-star center frame for a good half minute before anyone starts talking. The audio no longer warps as Jack is using a shiny new 'gear.]

Do you see that, people? That is the sun and it is glorious. Never ever forget how wonderful it is.

[The camera flips back around to show Jack's face and he looks...some kind of rough. He's got bags under his eyes and his color is a bit off--even for him. Even that goofy Exeggutor-print Hawaiian shirt isn't enough to make him look like his cheerful self. He blanks for a moment, as if he's forgotten why he even turned his 'gear on.]

OH! I'm finally out of that cave--er. Well. I suppose you can see that, huh? Dash and I made it safely to Azalea with the help of Mr. Cooper's Noctowl. Thank you so much, sir! I still owe you!

It's nice here.

[Edgar flaps into the frame and lands on her trainer's shoulder, butting her head against his neck. She's worreid about him.]

I've...forgotten what else I was going to say. I'm so tired. I think I'm going to stay here in the Pokemon Center for a little while.

Have I missed anything? My poke'gear...malfunctioned while I was in the cave.
quickattackjack: (8u wats up)
[Wow. It's been a while since Poke'Connect has seen this face! The feed opens on a grinning and...soaking wet Jack. His glasses are crooked and his hair looks like some kind of terrible dead animal. He's still a little out of breath from the Onix encounter and SOOPRISE SWIMMING LESSON. The darkness and rocks around him paint the backdrop as somewhere deep in Union Cave. Splashing can be heard in the background.]

H-hello, Johto! Ha ha, it's been a while hasn't it? How is everyone?

[His voice is warped thanks to his poke'gear ALSO being soaking wet.]

Rainbow Dash and I are in Union Cave and-- Heather! I want you to see this!

[Jack turns the 'gear around to reveal the wall-eyed Gyrados flailing around in the underground lake they almost drowned in. He doesn't look like he's much better at swimming...but he's big, blue, and badass!]

He's all grown up! I think...he's my first Pokemon to evolve too. Thank you so much for giving him to me--we wouldn't have gotten out of that alive, I don't think...

I also caught a Zubat!

And...

[Jack suddenly spaces out.]

I don't remember which way we came into this chamber...Oh well!

[His grin returns as he waves]

WELL ITS ABOUT TIME, JACK )

// ACTION TAKING PLACE AFTER THE BATTLE. Feel free to message or walk up to him!//

[Jack sits on one of the many benches in the Violety City Pokemon Center. Hindenburge drifts around his head babbling (or “Floon! Floon!”-ing) about the battle excitedly. In the seat next to him is the egg he was given nestled down in Jack’s coat.

He holds his chin in his hands and stares thoughtfully at the tile between his feet while his birds are in back getting fixed up. You’d think a winner would look happier! ]

quickattackjack: (Default)
[The feed opens on a slightly groggy but rather excited Jack cradling something round and darkly colored in the crook of one arm as he holds the 'Gear.

He's been scanning the comm and has seen that everyone else has received a surprise along with their gifts. HOWEVER Edgar the Murkrow who is on his shoulder doesn't look too pleased about the new arrival. It was a threat. Something that was going to receive more attention than her. CHRISTMAS BE DAMNED! Doc the Hoothoot manning the other shoulder wows the entire universe by actually looking interested in something for once.]

Good morning everyone! I hope you all had a great Christmas! I want to thank everyone for all the gifts! I'm so glad nothing bad happened this year!

Er-- I've got a question though. I've never taken care of an egg before...I know they're supposed to stay warm-- I've seen buzzards sitting on eggs. But uh...I'm not sure Doc and Edgar are big enough.

And I think Edgar might want to eat it....

quickattackjack: (i could die laughing)
[The video opens with...a blurry screen. It looks like somebody has fogged up the 'Gear's lens or spritzed it with water. THEN ALL GOES BLACK and lots of annoying creaky plastic sounds assault your ears. When the picture clears, all is revealed!

It's day time. People are playing in the snow and laughing on the other side of the Violet cafe windows. BUT ALL IS NOT WELL IN THIS WINTER WONDERLAND.

Have a very...unhappy looking Jack squinting at you. His nose has gone red, his eyes are puffy, and his hair looks like he's been attacked by a rabid pikachu. He is wearing no less than three sweaters and they are all fugly. The Pumpkin King has caught his very first cold. D'awww. ]

Hhhkhhg--I'll give-- I'll give anyone who brings me some cold medicine one of my potions. Or lunch. And my undying appreciation. I'll name my next Pokemon after you this is dreadful!

O-oh before I fhhggorget! Minni Mouse! I have your Christmas gift!

There was something else but I forgo'd what I was talking about--

[The screen is suddenly covered by an explosive sneeze. Classy.]
quickattackjack: (8U)
((OOC: ;-; HHHGdkfjddfds I've missed you all so much! November kicked my ass all month, but in the end, I DEFEATED IT and have a finished novel under my belt.

I'm also bummed I missed the 4th wall event but I loved reading you guys' threads! Hi new people I didn't get to greet! Uh. I cleaned out my inbox (I get e-mail notifications for comments) so if anybody has anything they want me to respond to, DON'T BE SHY <3. I probably forgot. ANYWAY. Jack is back! I might be a little slow at first--still getting back in the groove!))
------------

[The video begins with a nice shot of...the sky. Jack hasn't dropped his 'Gear because it moves slightly and you can hear the man breathing. Clouds are drifting overhead and it's all quite boring until-]

That cloud looks almost exactlylike a Rattata with all its legs gone! Isn't that interesting?

[That's...lovely, Jack.

For anyone who wants to wander upon a grown man laying on his back and staring at the sky near the edge of town, you're welcome to! Time of day doesn't matter. He's not a terribly busy man.
quickattackjack: (8U)
[ Who's that? It's Jack in a Poke'Mart work vest with an Edgar on his shoulder! After blowing of some steam during his I WANNA BE THE VERY BEST  SCARIEST TRAINER EVER training run, a grin has returned to the older man's face. It's his lunch break.]

Hey, everyone! Check this out!

[Jack points the 'Gear at an enormous slingshot he's made situated between two thin trees out behind the Mart where he's been breaking down boxes. Between them, he's stretched a sort of net made of things the supplies came packaged in.]

I've found a way to help my flying Pokemon get up to speed. Ready, Edgar?

"Krow!" Edgar is looking bigger these days and a little less ADD. She flaps her wings and looks determined.]

Alright, I just load a little Pokemon food in here, like so. [He drops a few pellets into one half of a broken Poke'ball and starts pulling back on it.] Aim for something that is not a window and--- GO!

[The pellets are launched high into the air and Edgar dashes after them. Bullying random Ratatta has made her fast. She manages to catch one of the three pellets in her beak before it hits the ground.]

Ahahaha, good girl, Edgar! I hope this catches on!
quickattackjack: (crafty old man)
[Boop!  Today, Jack's feed focuses on a much more alert and determined face than his last video. His pokemon are healed, his spirits are high, and he is ready to prove to everyone that he is totally not zubatshit insane! Behind him looms the Sprout Tower, silhouetted by the sinking sun.]

Good mor--er afternoon! I have finally made it to the tower! It reminds me of home so much. The ghosts inside are going to point me the way home, but if I find a way back, I'll definitely visit! You have all been such wonderful company and great help! Edgar, are you ready?

[The Murkrow pops into the frame with her GAME FACE on. She has no idea what Jack's babbling about but she's seen some ratatta rustling around the grass at the tower's base and she's ready to go kick some purple rodent ass. "KROW!"]

Everyone take care!

[Oh, he'll be back....]
quickattackjack: (grumpy)
[[ OOC NOTE: ;-; I AM SO SORRY I DISAPPEARED FOR A WHILE. SHIT GOT REAL AT HOME AND SCHOOL STARTED AND POSTING GOT HARD WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH /emoskeleton. If you need to get ahold of me about anything or just to talk, you can grab me on AIM at CatfishSuicide! I am dumb and forget things. Please don't be shy! ]]

[The Poke'Gear is pointed out the Violet City Pokemon Center window. It's not shaking around and there's no dorky old guy shouting about what he's seeing. Normal Pokecenter bustle can be heard. He was waiting for his pokemon to be healed. He hasn't been battling much and they aren't quite strong enough to take on the Unknown that confronted him and his friends. Now that he was flesh and blood, Edgar going all swirly-eyed really bothered him.]

We made it to Violet. The trip to the tower may have to wait for a few days. I hope Phoenix and the others are alright.

So...ah...hello, Violet!

[He still tries to sound cheerful though! Tries.]
quickattackjack: (crafty old man)
[Whoever's holding the camera is doing a lot of running and jumping. The 'Gear points at a cluster of Driftloon in the sky. Jack has split off from his little traveling group momentarily to spazz out like a dork.]

GHOSTS! LOOK! THE POKE'DEX SAYS THEY'RE GHOSTS! COME BACK! I NEED TO TALK TO YOU! Edgar, go! Go!

quickattackjack: (crafty old man)
[Jack's Poke'Gear is being held aloft in true Myspace Emopic fashion, but it shows no moody teenager with their hair brushed over one eye. Instead, the old king is grinning ear to ear. His hair is ruffled, a leaf is stuck to the side of his face, and his glasses are crooked. The inside of the Pokemon Center can be seen behind him.]

Good morning! How is everyone? Look who joined us early this morning!

[He shifts a little, angling the camera so that it can see a VERY grouchy looking Hoothoot tucked under Jack's free arm. This Hoothoot fucking hates EVERYTHING.]

Isn't he great? I named him Doc. Edgar and I heard him just outside of town, and since Phoenix has invited us to go traveling with him soon, I thought it'd be best to catch him while I had the chance. He makes GREAT sounds! Doc, say hello!

[The Poke'Gear is given a venomous glare. "Hoot." Jack looks a little disappointed. That wasn't the hellscream they'd heard at three this morning!]

[The video is very shaky and blurry at first but eventually focuses on...Jack's hand. There is a thin cut stretching across his palm which bleeds freely. Behind it is the beach.]

This is the most amazing thing! Look! Look at this! I can feel the nerves firing off and-- everything! Wow! Hah!

...ow.

I cut it on this--

[He tilts the Poke'Gear down to show a bit of broken seashell in the sand by his feet. Edgar is nowhere to be seen.]

[The feed opens on the path winding through town. Jack is sitting under a tree near the entrance with his Poke'Gear pointed at it. Edgar occasionally hops into view, pecking at the ground. It's afternoon.]

Hello! Before Edgar and I head off in search of the tower with the ghosts, I thought we would stay around here a few days. Would anyone in the area want  to meet and swap stories? We're in Cherrygrove!

[He tilts the 'Gear up to point at the sign.]
quickattackjack: (Default)
[CLOVERFEILD SHAKY-CAM, AWRIGHT! The Poke'Gear is pointed at the tiny town of Cherrygrove which, right now, looks like a bunch of legos in the distance. It's the middle of the day. The feed is very wobbly because Jack is stumbling. Like a huge doofus, he did not sleep last night and traveled the whole time. He hasn't stopped to eat, catch Pokemon, or even battle very much. Now he's starting to pay for it. Jack is still a newbie to this whole 'human limits' thing.]

Look, Edgar!

[He stops walking and wheezes. The Murkrow hops into the frame and looks back at her trainer, worried. "Krowh?" ]

I told you plowing right on through would work! We've saved a whole half-a-day! I want to thank everyone again for being so helpful. And think--just another week and we can look at that tower...Edgar! Look! It's a Whoot-Whoot like Zack told us about! What's it doing out in the middle of the day? Let's catch it!

[Edgar looks back at a stump with some charred bits on it that MIGHT have looked like a Hoot Hoot's strange ear tufts. What.]

Edgar, use Peck!

[When Edgar doesn't attack the stump, Jack comes to the only logical conclusion.]

It must already be knocked out! This is our lucky day!

[Jack hurls a pokeball at the stump. It bounces off and lands in some bushes. Sleep deprivation and stress are fun!]

[The camera is pointed at a road stretching into the distance. It's also right side up. This is an improvement! It's mid-morning. Jack can be heard wheezing lightly and the Poke'Gear wobbles just a little since he's leaned over with a hand on one knee.]

Good morning! What you're looking at is a day and a half of road! According to my map, we're a day and a half away from a place called Cherrygrove. And then, maybe a week from the tower. I'd like to thank everyone who gave me such helpful information! I owe each of you. Any and all hints on the whereabouts of a graveyard are still welcome! Let's see...

[Jack points the Poke'Gear to the road ahead.]

Path-- looks good. It's been kind of a lonely walk.

[The camera flips around to reveal an upside down Jack.]

Nose-- still busted. Anyone know how long these take to heal?

[The 'Gear is turned again to focus on Edgar who his hoping along side Jack. She croaks to him.]

Edgar-- actually a girl! I'm so sorry, Edgar!

quickattackjack: (ic)
[The Poke'Gear, being held sideways, reveals the face of an older gentleman with trees behind him It's evening. There is a big white plaster over the bridge of his nose and an even bigger frown situated below it.]

Hello?

This is important! The ledges here are cursed somehow! Has anyone else noticed this? There has to be a very powerful witch behind all this.

[Jack's brows drift up at the thought of that. He adjusts his glasses.]

I would love to meet them! Strangest thing...I haven't encountered a single ghoul since arriving. Can anyone point me to a graveyard? I'm on a road called Route 29...I wouldn't suggest 46. At all. It's that way.

[Jack turns the Poke'Gear towards a mountainy road. His Murkrow, Edgar, who is also sideways, is tugging at a blade of grass next to the path.]

If you see a tree that looks like that, just turn around. Turn around and walk very very far away. It's not worth it.
