[The video is very shaky and blurry at first but eventually focuses on...Jack's hand. There is a thin cut stretching across his palm which bleeds freely. Behind it is the beach.]

This is the most amazing thing! Look! Look at this! I can feel the nerves firing off and-- everything! Wow! Hah!

[He tilts the Poke'Gear down to show a bit of broken seashell in the sand by his feet. Edgar is nowhere to be seen.]

[He looks at his hand, which he's finally gotten around to wrapping up.]

No. I think...I think it'll be alright. I was going to go by the Pokemon Center later... how've you been?

Yeah, I didn't get infected from the bite Lady gave me -- [He holds up his hand, where you can still see two tiny bit marks reminicsant of his first encounter with the Sentret.] -- so you should be fine.

Me? I've been alright, I guess. I need to introduce you to someone, though, hold on-- [He whistles, and after a few moments a Pidgey flutters over from where it was resting with his other Pokemon, and it promptly...nestles itself into Phoenix's hair.]

...Pidge, what did I tell you about doing that.

[Jack sucks in air through his teeth at the sight of Phoenix's bite. Oof! When Pidge shows up, the old king bites his lip, trying to contain a snicker. It didn't work too well.]

[He leans a little to get a better look at the pokemon.]

Snake? [Wait a second, that sounds a bit familiar--] Mr. Doe said he was travelling with a guy named Snake...I wonder if they're the same person?

[Jack utterly fails at hiding his grin.]

Would you like some help?

[The ex-skeleton then looks thoughtful. Mr. Doe didn't ring any bells but...] Is he a military sort of fellow? Has a floating robot and a little egg...thing?

No, it's fine. C'mon, Pidge, have a berry. [At the sound of that, the bird flutters down onto Phoenix's wrist and starts nibbling away at the berry in the palm of his hand.]

I haven't actually met him, so I don't know...but how many people around here can be called Snake, really? [Like you're one to talk.]

[Jack looks thoughtful of Phoenix's question until he finally comes up empty. The old man shrugs expressively.]

[Jack rubs his chin thoughtfully.]

Well...I don't know, for sure. I was planning on staying around here a little while to rest up, maybe learn something. But I have to get to that tower.

Really? I guess I'm just...waiting for some of my friends to catch up. [He shrugs.] I don't want to leave my daughter her alone, either. I don't want her travelling any farther by herself. [...he looks a bit thoughtful for a second, then gives Jack a sidelong glance.] You're welcome to travel with us, if you'd like? [I think someone doesn't want to be the only responsible adult in his travelling group.]

--wait, what tower?

;-; OH MY GOD IM SO SORRY FOR THE WAIT. Shit got crazy at my house.

[Jack stops fiddling with the straps on his big long enough to look up. It takes a moment for the invitation to sink in, but when it does, he breaks into a wide, toothy grin.]

That would be wonderful!

[And somebody doesn't want to end up spending three hours trying to catch a stump that WAS 100% TOTALLY a Hoothoot earlier. In the wilderness. He's still not totally confidant in his pokemoning OR humaning skills.]

Yes! Sprout Tower in Violet City. It's supposed to have ghosts and I'm going there for answers.
