This'll be my first Halloween. It's a sad story to know that my wife won't be here to share it with our family. [He's starting to realize that she probably isn't coming for him. He doesn't want to think that the possibility is that she starved to death... So his mind tracks onto happier thoughts.]

I'd like to have a party for my children, Jack, bu~t I don't know how to hold a Halloween party... Think you could help? [Yes he knows what Halloween is- kids love it, he needs to know- but it's never come up, so once again he's stuck for details. And from what the Other Father can pick up from Jack's excitement, he thinks he's speaking to the right guy.]

From what I've seen in the human world, Halloween parties are different depending on the age of the people attending it. How old are they?

They're all kids, so I'd like it to be themed around them. Maybe we could make it a big thing for all of the children in Goldenrod?

_{[Jack taps his jaw. Kids usually meant the younger sort. He decides to pace a little, taking Father and his 'gear along for the ride.]}

Games are always good-- bobbing for apples, seeing who can tell the starriest ghost story, maybe Murder in the Dark-- it's a little like hide-and-go-seek. Or perhaps change it to Sardines...

Well, games is an area I can help with. [There are so many things he can't do, and being a fun person to play games with isn't one of them.] The kids might be fine with Murder in the Dark, but it won't be friendly to everyone. [How to cater to the mass?]
