34 days till Halloween [video/action for breeding center]

Hello, everyone! It's Ok-toh-bah! I know some of you have to have Halloween where you're from!

Tell me what you do there! I'd love to get some new ideas to take home with me if-- You know. Anyhow!

Wait is that Halloween thing is coming soon?

Halloween? ... I've never heard of it. Is it another holiday, like Easter?

Thirty one days from now--er, counting today!

Mostly back home it's just decorating and lots of pumpkin flavored candies and deserts! And horror movie marathons! [[though that was mostly just him...]] Though I hear in America its a much bigger thing! And there's a lot of countries where it's the day where the veil between the worlds is thinnest and you can contact the spirits of the dead, though I've never had much luck with that...

Exactly what will we be doing? We don't have Halloween in my world and all I know about Halloween is that people give candy away.

Kids go around in costumes asking for treats, there are pumpkins on sale everywhere, horror movies air on TV... y'know, the usual stuff!

Well, everyone celebrates fall and the edges of the living world and the world of the dead blur a bit so everyone can visit! It's very exciting. Humans like to dress up and there are feasts and--

That sounds great! Where I'm from, it's all of those things at once. It's wonderful.

It's a holiday! It's also the best holiday!

She's just amused and smiling as she listens, and his excitement is pretty infectious. ]

We have something like that back home, at least with the line between the living and spirit worlds blurring. It happens on the Winter Solstice. We didn't get a chance to do anything for it last year, though, so I don't know if it's the same. It sounds exciting, though!

Oh! That-- that's it! Same thing--mostly! Sort of! Yes!

Ha ha, right. It's a celebration of that as well. A lot of unusual things can happen on Halloween! People like to have feasts and dress up and share tales of horror and all sorts of wonderful things! And it's going to happen in thirty days.

Oh I'm-- very sorry to hear that. Well, people like to get together and have feasts and tell each other tales of horror and it's also when spirits like to come out.

[ She can't help grinning. Definitely infectious. ]

Really? Wow, so right at the end of the month! That's not very far off! [ She was just about to say she should see if Ed and the others would celebrate it but... ah... that's right, she'll be traveling alone by then. SHE RECOVERS QUICKLY THOUGH. ] I can't wait. I'll bet they're doing something big in Goldenrod and Olivine. They're big cities, right? They'll probably have a festival for it like they did at that Easter holiday.

And I think I already know exactly what I'll dress up as!

We have Halloween where I'm from. Different places celebrate in different ways, but I think the most universal tradition are jack-o-lanterns and the kids dressing up and going door to door to get free candy and treats. A lot of people like to have costume parties, or visit haunted houses too,

Sounds like they'd have an expert on the job. I'll probably be there by then. I can't wait to see it all for myself.

[ She really gets into this kind of stuff Jack YHNI. Not like you-- no one can really beat you at that --but still she's pretty damn interested. ]

There's a legend back home in one of the countries we visited, about a spirit that protects a village on a river, called the Painted Lady. I think I'll dress up as her again. I already know what I need for the outfit.

Well, I'm traveling with my brother and his friends, so it depends where we are when the thirty first comes around, but I hope we'll do something! I'll try to at least make something to give to the kids. Oh, and I love dressing up for it! What about you, sir?

I'm going to find any Halloween event I can and help out! I do wonder if there will be horror films at the theater here.

Halloween wouldn't be complete without all of those things! It could be fun to make your own if they don't show any? You could ask people in Johto for their creepiest stories and then put on a show on the network with the Gears!
