Just how old do you think we newcomers can get in this place?

_{[There's a short pause before the feed ends that suggests he wants to add something else but he doesn't.]}

I'm not certain whether to congratulate you or offer my condoleances.

I'm definitely one of the ten earliest remaining arrivals by this point, but as I've looked fifteen years younger than I am for quite some time, I'll be of little help for this. Unless this world somehow accelerates my aging.

_{[Jack laughs.]} I don't know either. Ahah.

Maybe we should try and round the rest of them up. Swap stories. Things like that!

This could be a pleasant little meeting... or an extremely depressing reunion. We'd have to include drinks and food, to fit both of those possibilities.

I threw a Dead Man's party one year...I wish I remembered how it went.

I don't remember there being an enormous turn out...but I might just throw another. There are dozens of new arrivals who could probably use some cheering up.

Indeed. I spoke to one who looked extremely confused and upset a few days ago, though I doubt she was dead in her world.

I'm not so sure she would enjoy a party full of dead people...

...It might give her the wrong idea about this world, yes. People who think this might be the afterlife are already common enough...

Maybe newcomers need a different kind of party.

Preferably one that comes with supplies for the first few weeks of their journey.

Hmmm...we should at least put the idea out there so that someone else might take the job.

A young lady spoke of creating facilities for new arrivals. Perhaps a celebration could be included.

Now there's an idea! It would be much better than getting kicked out into the world by Mom with nothing but a floppy paper book to guide you.

If anything, I'd say Mother's presence makes the situation worse for many. Her inability to recognize her own child is extremely unsettling, though her cooking is delicious.

I'll be honest, some days I worry about Mother...

Her neighbors keep an eye on her, I believe, but I must admit I wish I could help her realize her situation.

I've heard there's a holiday called Mother's Day...do you think we should send her cards?

...I've no idea. There's a chance they'd make her happy, but cards from people she met once and possibly promptly forgot might also be upsetting.

I hadn't thought of that...I'll just tuck that idea away for later.

Or you could ask her neighbors if she's ever received any before, and what was reaction. If they'd be willing to share that information.
