52 days till Halloween [video]

_{[It's another bright morning in the Skellington Mansion and the feed flicks on to what must be the attic since there are panels of the ceiling missing and sunlight is streaming through. Tools are scattered everywhere and Edgar the Murkrow is making a pest of herself scattering nails. There are piles of plastic tarp rumpled here and there. Anybody living within a block of the house knows construction is still going loud and strong.]}

I had a thought. I'd like to provide my guests with something to entertain themselves with besides being frightened of pokemon. I was wondering if anybody had come across any good horror films in this place. I could leave a few in each room for them to choose from.

I had a terrible time trying to find any two years ago but...something good must have come out since then?

I haven't seen any good horror film or even films since coming here. Honestly, I've stopped expecting anything good entertainment-wise besides a few recorded pokémon battles that occasionally play on television.

[This is a great sadness for France. He loves a good fight as much as anyone, but there is nothing really in entertainment here.]

I thought as much. I found a brilliant book a year or so ago entitled "Dig" but that's all.

I'll happily find you a copy! I gave mine to a friend. It's about a man who is traveling through Diglett's Cave in Kanto. If you've traveled in that regieon, you've probably seen a map of it. It's a very simple cave. Not like...

other caves. But! Something happens to keep him from reaching the other side. I admire the author's attention to detail. Very visceral!

That doesn't sound like my usual fare, but I've had quite enough of the attempts at romance that this place puts out.

[France would cry to have even a Harlequin novel at this point.]

I'm guessing it's a suspense or a horror story?

A little of both, I like to think. It's written in first-person journal style and I'll admit, I wasn't a fan of it at first, but it grew on me.

[France grins, somewhat sheepishly.]

I'll probably need to sleep with the lights on for a while after reading it. That'll probably annoy Envy, but maybe I can get him to read it with me and we'll be scared together.

[He chuckles.]

That's the best way to enjoy a good scare: good company suffering alongside you.

I don't know if you're into romance, but there was one passable novel called "Must Love Growlithes" that reminded me of a mildly amusing movie back home.

_{[Jack chuckles and nods. He wishes he could just leave books in the rooms but he doesn't know many people who sit and read a whole book in one night, much less when they're tired from traveling.]}

It is fun being frightened together! I hope my guests will think so.

It is fun. It also facilitates extra closeness. Intense emotions draw couples closer together...

A fright isn't normally this France's style, but let it never be said that the Country of Love is adverse to trying something new!

I wonder if they'll ever make a film adaptation of Dig. Part of me hopes they don't...they would probably ruin it. I found out that seems to be the norm the hard way.

Why, no! I hadn't thought about it! I don't have any film experience unless, well, all these little videos we've all made in the past three years count.

Why would it not count? We have been doing it for some time and even some Pokemon are notorious for it...

Ah, but regardless there are professionals among us.

Well, what I've come to understand is that film is an art and...filming my Murkrow play in the sink is hardly art.

I think it has something to do with angles? So maybe if you turn the camera a bit, aha! That will do it, will it not?

I'm not really a good with horror films since they don't scare me, but some horror films come on really late at night on TV.

I haven't caught any on television. Perhaps I'm not watching the right channels.
