23 days till Halloween [action/prose]
This looks...familiar.
Jack stood in the shadow of Sprout Tower, gazing up at its peaked roof with furrowed brows—or they would have been, had he any. One had singed them off. Thanks a lot, One. Today, his Pokemon friends were out of sight. His hands were stuffed into his coat pockets and one well-worn shoe scuffed at the boards of the bridge that arced over the little Magikarp pond that surrounded the tower. As much as he’d hated the building (and felt silly for it because really, who hates a building?) he knew he was going to miss it.
Ever since he learned of it, way back in sunny little Cherrygrove, it had been his mission to find it. It was the closest thing to a graveyard anyone had mentioned and that would surely be the way home! All graveyards lead to home! When he found that it wasn’t, his spirits (and tailbone) had been more than a bit bruised. Jack gave up.
For a little while anyway.
Now that wasn’t being a spastic black and white blur destined for Violet, Jack took a step back and started learning what this Pokemon thing was all about—and more importantly, he started wondering just why he and his friends were here. Curious skeleton had always been curious. There had to be something to all of this.
Several friends and months later, here he was, finally ready to start looking again. He tugged the plaque he’d decorated under the Love Tree during the festival out of his coat and walked across the bridge. Keeping an eye out for monks and security, he casually made his way around the outside of the building. It had to be the perfect place.
He knelt down by a little stone Pokemon statue that had been placed by the building’s edge. It was a Raticate and though it wasn’t very Halloweenish, he thought it made as good a guardian as any. After gathering a few stones from the pond’s edge he placed the plaque against the statue’s base and propped it up. Then, he stepped back and looked at his handywork.
JACK LOVES SALLY
He doubted anybody would know who Jack and Sally were if they found this plaque, but he’d know and that’s all that mattered.
Jack was more than content to stay at the Tower for the rest of the afternoon, pitching berries into the pond and watching the wall-eyed orange fish fight over them. He wasn’t sulky this time around. The old Pumpkin King actually looked at peace.
[Action for Violet: Jack is derping around the grounds at Sprout Tower and feeding the Magikarp. Feel free to join him! It's a nice afternoon!]

[Action] D-dawwwww Jack. ;n;
That, and she was having trouble finding Kaitlyn; couldn't leave Violet before gathering up her traveling buddies.
Without much warning, she pops up behind him, raising an eyebrow at the Magikarp.]
You're hanging out here to feed some fish? [Sh-she really doesn't mean to be rude.]
[Action] HI DASH ILU I finally drew ponyjack
I haven't traveled in a while. I thought I'd do something peaceful first. And I was doing some other things...
[He nodded his head back at the little plague he'd entrusted to the Raticate statue.]
[Action] ILU TOO FOREVER, BRO. <3 OMIGOSH SHOW MEH.
[She peers over at the Raticate statue, squinting her eyes for a moment before jogging over to it.]
... Hey, uh... Who's Sally? [She looks back at him from over her shoulder.] Somepony from home?
[Action] I WANNA MAKE IT AN ICON
_______
Yeah. She's the only person who understands me back home. She's my best friend.
[Jack really liked all his new friends he'd made in Johto but...you couldn't just replace somebody like Sally.]
[Action] FFFF DO IT *o*
YOU AND YOUR AMAZING SKILLS. 8I NEVAR CHANGE.))
-------
[Her quizzical look turns into something more sympathetic. In a moment, she's back at Jack's side, promptly taking a seat beside him.]
... You miss her a lot, huh? [Upon arriving in Johto, she got a little taste of what it was like without her friends around. She's got a vague idea of how he might feel.]
Re: [Action] FFFF DO IT *o*
________________
I do. A whole lot.
[Jack was torn. He didn't want to mope and pine too much because then he'd never get anything DONE...but he didn't want to act like it was no big deal either. He'd never been away from home this long. He worried about his world. Sora made him nervous as well.]
So, that's why I'm going to do my best and hope all this badge collecting business is the way home. I used to think I could get home through this tower when I first got here.
[Action]
---------
[She nods, attempting a reassuring grin.] Yeah! I mean, doesn't hurt to try it, right? [Though Dash was having second thoughts. With her "band" back together and a gaggle of new friends thrown into the mix, she wasn't so sure she wanted to leave ASAP as she had planned.
She glances around at the tower.] Why this place?
[Action]
Back home...several graveyards are connected by mausoleums. I thought the Sprout Tower might work because it's the closest thing to a graveyard I've seen since arriving.
And the ghosts there weren't any help either...so I gave up for a while.
But. I can't learn anything from staying in one spot, can I?
[Jack pushes himself to his feet and brushes dust off his clothes.]
