[Jack's having one of those realizations that crop up out of the blue and just has to share it with the world. He sounds worried.]}

Just how old do you think we newcomers can get in this place?

_{[There's a short pause before the feed ends that suggests he wants to add something else but he doesn't.]}

Looks like time passes normally in this place. My brother and I had one birthday here last December...

[ There's a small frown as he's thinking about it. ]

I don't even know if there's anyone who's been brought in who's close enough to dying of old age though.

_{[Jack takes that as a compliment, feeling that he looks rather old himself.]}

Here's to hoping no one has to find out!

[ He isn't one to rag on looks though. After all, his dad kicked ass even until his hair was grey. ]

Same here. I've heard dying doesn't work the same way... and with the presence of ghost pokemon, you really can't help but wonder if we'll end up as pokemon if we die here or if we'll come back to life.

_{[Jack nods.]}

I have read a few entries in books and in my pokedex that suggests some Pokemon used to be human. Especially Yamask.

[ Another frown of concentration. ]

That's what I heard. Maybe Pokemon are more than just the flora and fauna of this world if you look at it.

[ And a beat. ]

I hope you don't mind my asking but... was there something that came up that made you wonder about what you asked us?

Oh, just the realization that I'm not getting any younger.

_{[He stoops down to pick up the dishes he's been dropping while his mind's been wandering.]}

Putting together the haunted house last year gave me quite a few extra gray hairs...

_{[Here he pauses to look thoughtfully into space.]}

If I did come back as a Pokemon, I think I'd like to be a Houndoom...

[ There's a small sympathetic smile from this kid. ]

Unfortunately, I wasn't in Goldenrod by the time Halloween came around... but I heard good things about the Haunted House. Was that all you?

[ And a sigh as he scoops up his Happiny who had fallen asleep on a nearby couch. ]

I kind of wonder if we get to pick what sort of Pokemon we'll be if that's what awaits us, though... and if we are, what if the Pokemon we have with us now were once people?

Oh, I doubt we'd get to pick. I'm just daydreaming. I think there's a good chance that some of our Pokemon were human in a previous life. This world is full of mysterious things. Good thing they're our friends!

_{[A Murkrow with a scratch across the top of her beak flaps into the frame, taking up the entirety of Jack's shoulder and starts nibbling at his glasses.]}

Someone knows we're talking about her.

[ Friends. He's never really thought of it that way... but then he never really was the first to jump at friends. The Happiny sleeps on though,oblivious to the look her trainer was giving her. ]

I bet she does. Was she the pokemon who was with you from the start?

_{[Edgar fluffs herself up once she's given up trying to remove her trainer's glasses.]}

That's right! It's been four years and she hasn't left my side. She was a handful when I first met her but at least she never got me arrested!

_{[Oh, Crow. He misses his friend and his strange card games.]}

[ Well no wonder why he was asking this sort of question to the network... ]

You must miss your home quite a bit, sir.

I'll admit I do. Every day. Last year I worked on making my house as much like home as I could. It's helped some, but you know. It's not the same.

I don't think it ever will be, no matter how much work you put into it.

[ A sigh. ]

Has... anyone ever found a way back? Or at least a hint as to who brought us here and how long they plan to keep us?

_{[Jack slowly shakes his head, causing Edgar to tilt her own and croak deep in her throat. Trainer sad!]}

I'm afraid not. While I think they're fantastic, the only thing the people of this world seem to be interested in is Pokemon.

[ Even those who've gotten a little niche for themselves here still want to go home. ]

...If I ever hear anything sir, any way that we can get home, I'll make sure to let you know.
