[Jack's having one of those realizations that crop up out of the blue and just has to share it with the world. He sounds worried.]}

Just how old do you think we newcomers can get in this place?

_{[There's a short pause before the feed ends that suggests he wants to add something else but he doesn't.]}

[That's... actually a really good question. Is there an age limit? At first Riku stares silently at the camera, tapping his chin. Then a thought pops into his head.]

Well, I remember bumping into this one old timer. He was bald, wrinkly, and the only hair on his face was a grey beard. Spoke with this gravelly voice, too. I figure he couldn't have been any younger than seventy.

[But that's just a guess. Either way, he stood out considerably compared to all the teens and kids running around.]

Hmmm. I've probably got a ways to go from the sound of it. How'v you been holding up?

Well, I can't really complain.

[He shrugs his shoulders. Nineteen's a pretty young age, after all.]

It just feels weird getting older here. Next year, I'll be turning twenty. If my friend Kairi ever pops up again, that'll make her at least three years younger than me, four if she's from my time period.

It's not a huge gap once you hit your adult years, but for a teen? It's huge.

[But ultimately, that's his problem to deal with, not Jack's. Still, it's another thing to consider while being stuck in this world: aging.]

I don't remember much about being your age...or alive for that matter...but I do seem to remember those years all blowing by in the blink of an eye.

You've got that right. Sometimes I don't even feel nineteen-- it's just so weird to think about spending almost a fourth of my life in this place.

Makes me wonder how long we'll actually stick around. If there's some kind of limit.

There's only one way to find out, I'm afraid.

Yeah. Unless whoever dragged us here shows their face someday, we're kinda stuck where we are.

[Alas. There's always some kinda catch.]

So how do you deal with it?

Keep myself busy, mostly. Help out when I can. The haunted house took up most of my time last year-- I hope I can come up with enough to add to it this time that I'm not let twiddling my thumbs in September.

Ha, well, who knows? Maybe you could take inspiration from what happened last year. That whole dreamspace just screamed Halloween.

[Couple that with the nightmares people had before and... yep, that's a ton of material just waiting to be exploited.]
